Work in progress:
Transforming curricula for cloud university resilience
The CLOUD HED consortium currently works on analysing selected curricula with a view to their crisis-sensitivity and readiness for a shift to the cloud university model (Activity A3.3). For doing so, a curriculum analysis scheme was developed based on pertinent literature. This scheme allows to analyse curricula with a view to aspects including flexibility, modularity, stackability of courses and the inclusion of resilience skills.

Examples for further themes to be analysed:

-
Competency-based educational formats replacing rigid ones
-
Asynchronous learning alternatives for accessibility
-
Integration of crisis-relevant and trauma-informed skills
-
Cloud-based LMS compatibility (Moodle, MS Teams, Google Classroom)
-
Low-bandwidth and offline learning options
The initial analysis is limited to selected curricula in partner HEIs, which are centred around management, educational sciences, and international economy.

-
The curricula under analysis are: Tel-Hai Academic College – M.A. in Management and Organization of Educational Systems, demonstrating strong crisis-sensitivity with trauma-informed pedagogy and flexible assessment methods
-
Sumy State University – International Economy and International Management program, showcasing resilience through energy-independent infrastructure and adaptive learning platforms
-
Riga Technical University – Educational Sciences M.A., highlighting modular structures and cloud-based delivery systems
For gaining a broader insight and more comparability, a second round of analysis will be focused on additional curricula in partner HEIs, but also on curricula in other institutions.

As we complete the curriculum analysis, we're building a replicable framework that higher education institutions worldwide can adopt to enhance their operational resilience and student support during emergencies.

Is your institution exploring modular, crisis-resilient curriculum design?
